
Executive Committee
The Shelby County Republican Party has the responsibility to advance, direct and regulate the Party and its official activities in Shelby County for the purpose of promoting the election of Republicans to public office and the appointment of Republicans to boards and commissions. The Executive Committee has enacted bylaws to facilitate the orderly and harmonious discharge of these activities for the best interest of the party and its members and supporters.
Executive Committee members and the public are invited to attend quarterly meetings, at which time the business of the Party is conducted. Executive Committee meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday in February, May, August, and November at the Shelby County Services Building located at 19220 US-280. Upon being seated on the SCGOP Executive Committee, members are required to pay a one-time qualifying fee of $50 for the current 4-year term plus annual dues in the amount of $60 in order to remain in good standing, and be eligible to vote on matters of business.
Steering Committee
The SCGOP Steering Committee runs the day-to-day operations of the county party and is comprised of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, treasurer, Directors and Parliamentarian. Officerws are elected by the Executive Committee, and the Director and Parliamentarian positions are appointed by the Chairman. All members of the Steering Committee serve on a volunteer basis, without compensation.

State Executive Committee
Members of the Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) Executive Committee represent Shelby County at the state level and are selected in the Republican Primary election once every four years during the gubernatorial election cycle. Vacancies are filled by nomination and are ratified by the county party's Executive Committee.
Shelby County is allotted 9 seats on the ALGOP Executive Committee based on population, plus one for the County Chairman. Counties can earn up to 5 bonus seats for elected Republican officials—Shelby County currently holds all 5, for a total of 14 seats on the ALGOP Executive Committee.
Each candidate for the ALGOP Executive Committee membership must pay a one-time qualifying fee (to be determined for each four-year term, or portion thereof) to the Alabama Republican Party, and if elected, sustain a Capitol Club membership (including $180 annual dues) in order to remain in good standing and vote on matters of business.
