​​The Qualifying Period for SCGOP Executive Committee and Shelby County Offices opens 8:30 AM CST, Monday, January 12, 2026.

All qualifying paperwork and fees must be filed NO LATER than
5:00 p.m. CST, Friday, January 23, 2026 (“Qualifying Deadline”).

 

Anyone who files after the Qualifying Deadline will not be qualified.
All qualifying fees are non-refundable.

SCGOP Executive Committee Qualifying. 

The current 4-year term ends November 3, 2026. Every 4 years during the gubernatorial election year, current members who wish to remain on the Executive Committee must qualify for the next 4-year term (11/4/2026 – 11/5/2030) so we have members seated on the day the new term begins. Qualifying for the new term requires submission of the qualifying form and payment of a $50 qualifying fee (one-time payment for the new 4-year term). Below are instructions to qualify.
 

1. Qualifying Form: Complete the Declaration of Candidacy NO LATER THAN THE QUALIFYING DEADLINE. Submit the completed and signed form via email to Secretary, Melody Warbington.
    

2. Qualifying Fee: Pay $50 qualifying fee pay online or by check. Checks should be mailed to the address listed below. Please contact Treasurer Tereasa Rima with any questions or issues regarding payments.

Shelby County Offices Qualifying. 

Qualifying information for the following Shelby County offices will be posted on the SCGOP website homepage on January 12, 2026. Contact Joan Reynolds to set up an appointment to submit the qualifying forms (Candidate and Campaign Information, Declaration of Candidacy and Pauper’s Affidavit) and pay the fee for the applicable office NO LATER THAN THE QUALIFYING DEADLINE. Qualifying fee amounts will be provided upon submission of the qualifying form.
